Part/Full-Time Assistant Manager Position

Imagination Street is a new children’s indoor play space coming to The District At Prairie Trail in March 2023.  This new and inviting play space is all about creativity and imagination.  We will specialize in play time, private events and special events hosted by Imagination Street.

We are looking for a rock star assistant manager to join our team!  This is a unique opportunity to start at the ground level and be an integral part of growing our business along side us. 

​

What we are looking for…

We are looking for an individual to assist with managing the day-to-day operations here at Imagination Street.  This individual must be first and foremost friendly, creative, and outgoing and someone that truly enjoys being around children, have the ability to engage with children, and have a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests with top notch customer service.

 

Because we are a new small business and fully anticipate being a busy, energetic environment, we need a self-starter with high energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Someone who has strong multi-tasking skills and is prepared to jump in to help wherever needed with a positive attitude and can also easily adapt and go with the flow at times is a must!

Not only will we provide an open play concept for guests to enjoy, we also plan to offer private event packages and lots and lots of fun events hosted by Imagination Street for its guests to enjoy.  An individual who enjoys party planning, is creative and innovative, and finds joy in seeing others full of joy and excitement is super important as well.

​

As a manager, typical working hours will be between 8:30am – 6:00pm M-F. Weekend hours will be Saturdays between 9am and 7pm and Sundays between 10am – 6pm.  Please note, these are not the mandatory working hours of our manager role; however, having the flexibility to work within these hours is a requirement.  Occasional evening hours may be necessary for private events.  Weekends (at least 2 a month or some combination thereof working a Saturday or Sunday per week) will also be necessary.  For the right candidate we are willing to be flexible with scheduling provided it works with owners schedules and what’s best for Imagination Street.

Job Responsibilities: 

The work below is representative of the general scope of work that may be performed within this job classification. Individual job duties will vary based on work assignment.

  • Assist with running the day-to-day operations alongside owners

  • Opening and closing facility

  • Prepare facility for arriving guests

  • Greet and check-in guests

  • Handle cash and card transactions for admission fees, food and beverage and retail purchases.

  • Provide general supervision and assisting children with playing in play area. (Parents are required to supervise their children, this is not a childcare type facility.)

  • Enforcing program rules and safety regulations, following proper emergency procedures

  • Properly fill out injury paperwork, if necessary

  • Clean/pickup in play area and bathrooms as needed during open times and at end of shift

  • Restock supplies and retail area; assist with supply ordering as needed

  • Answer questions and assist guests during open times

  • Successfully resolve customer issues and escalations in a timely and professional manner

  • Handle end of day card and cash closing process

  • Assist with event planning both hosted and private events, special classes and activities.  This will include but not be limited to performing event confirmation and planning tasks, supply ordering, vendor recruitment, marketing, setup and execution.

  • Assist with managing social media accounts and website

  • Assist with creating marketing materials for social media on past and upcoming events, etc.

  • Assist with scheduling tasks and management of our part-time play coordinators

  • Assist with new hire training and ongoing training of new part-time team members

  • Conduct post event follow up functions that includes but may not be limited to phone calls, sending out surveys, etc.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18+ years of age.

  • Available to work various shifts, including weekends.

  • Must be FUN, creative, upbeat and great with children!

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality.

  • You’ll be chatting with families all day! Strong interpersonal skills is a must, including the ability to easily engage others in dialogue, convey sincere interest in building/deepening relationships and demonstrate a commitment to providing personalized service

  • Proficiency in using computer is required.  Being able to respond with proper etiquette and grammar to customer emails and inquiries is a must.

  • Ability to navigate social media pages/sites, create an Instagram reel also important but we can learn together if needed.

  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift.

  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk and squat during scheduled shift.

  • Keeping the playground clean! Cleaning is a big part of this job. We constantly straighten up and sanitize all toys and equipment. Regularly cleaning and checking in on the bathroom. Keeping all counters, tables, windows clean.

  • Needs to be reliable, punctual, neat and tidy appearance, follows dress code and comes to work ready to have some fun!

  • Successful results of a criminal background check. No felonies or convictions.

  • Ability to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States.

 

Bonus points for additional knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Children’s games and activities

  • Hosting group activities such as playgroups, classes, and workshops

  • Having a BIG imagination

  • CPR certified a plus

 

Experience:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Possess a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED)

  • Background in early childhood education preferred but not required

  • Experience working among or with young children preferred

  • Customer service experience

  • Knowledge and experience with graphic design, Canva, Wordpress, social media, or newsletters helpful as we will be very busy keeping our social media pages and website up to date with new and exciting promos, events coming up, sharing past events, etc.  (preferred but not required if willing to learn)

Job Type:            Part-time to Full time

​

Pay:                      $17.00 per hour with a bonus plan

​

Schedule:          

30-40 Hours/week; over time may be necessary from time to time but do not anticipate it being frequent.  Typical shift hours will be 4-6 hours M-F, some days may be longer.  Weekend hours will vary depending on private events and other scheduled events happening but at least one Saturday or Sunday per week.  Split shifts may also be needed occasionally so flexibility is a must. For the right candidate we are willing to be flexible with scheduling provided it works with owner’s schedule and what’s best for Imagination Street.  We still encourage you to apply even if you are unsure about schedule as we will do our best to be flexible if it works for us.
